    2. They were Messerschmidt bait. They did ok hunting for U-Boats in the wide Atlantic, well out of range of fighters, but sitting in the bay like that, they look like ducks in the water, waiting for an eagle to come along.

  2. And that''s the problem I have with museums. They dress up vintage airplanes to Concours d'Elegance paint gloss. I much prefer their original battle appearance.
