And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Ever notice the truly great movies Hollywood produced never needed a sequel to remind us how great the original was? Rio Bravo is 65 years old and still better than the last 30 movies combined to come out of Hollyweird.
I love Rio Bravo...but it did have 2 sort of sequels - El Dorado (almost a remake with Robert Mitchum taking the Dino drunk role) and Rio Lobo. Both great Howard Hawks movies also. JonT
No artistic merit whatsoever. Just damn fine entertainment

Heh, it's been said Hawks made the same movie three times with that trilogy! He just moved the characters around..
