  3. That's a lot of glass insulators there. I hope the lines are dead, or he's about to be.

    2. Had a job with a utility construction company when I was young in the
      late 60's. Second crew I worked with was stripping the copper wire for salvage.
      The line mans job was very dangerous, as when the short wires that held the
      Wire to the insulators were all cut the old poles would fall because they
      were hollowed out by insects and woodpeckers. The cross arms after being
      unbolted were heaved back over the line mans head breaking a lot of the
      Insulators. I kept a few, but no one thought about them being collectable!

  5. On the one hand, easy access to work on the wires.
    On the other, cold so all the work takes longer while you try to keep your fingers warm enough to work.

      Daddy works the pole so mommy doesn't have too. At least he didn't want have to get the ladder off the truck or rig up
