    1. Uninjured face too. Somewhere on the Internets is a wedding photo of a Marine who's face sustained severe injuries -guessing burns from an IED- and his unhappy bride. If you find the backstory, it's even more heartbreaking.

  2. It's very rare because women are self-centered. I searched a lifetime for that and never found it.

    1. after chasing more than a few "me-me's", I found the best of all women - a near perfect one. Forty-four years and loving what each day brings.

    2. Knew a lot of girls, dated a lot of them. They loved my family's business, as we said, they were looking for a free meal-ticket. I'd pretty much given up on a good partner.

One day, God sent someone who was different. She didn't care what we did, how the business ran, just seemed so sweet to me. We went out on a date after a couple of weeks, and I KNEW, if I ever got married, she was exactly what I'd hoped for. I proposed & she said, "sure!", six weeks after meeting her. We were married 6 months later, between our birth dates. That was 45 years ago. Many times, I was asked, "Does she have a sister?"

This morning, I was playing "I love how you love me", Bobby Vinton's hit, and she, came over for a long embrace & many kisses later. I thank GOD, He kept her just for me, and we're still passionately in love with each other. Just so old-fashioned, the two of us - the passion never ends & God keeps blessing us.

    1. Because your kind to HER. She can trust you. Your blessed.

I've listened to many a sob story that SHE Left me while remembering how at last year BBQ HE was flirting hard with someone else while wifie was tending the kids.

While there are shitty women there are plenty of men that failed to grow up into men that women could trust and love.

    2. All of that might be true, but if you follow Visual Search on that photo, you will find that it is taken from a catalog belonging to a firm that sell prosthetic devices.

  6. I worked in a VA hospital for over 25 years and can attest to the loving kindness of wives and girlfriends. I am consistently amazed at feminine gentleness, caring and protectiveness.
Often you see it in nurses and female doctors as well...
The embrace of those two soulmates says it all.

  7. Anon 12:34. I too am blessed to have a wife that has stood by my side through thick and thin. 2 Colorectal surgeries, lung cancer and COPD. She still holds my hand and we have a date night every week.

    1. Six heart operations, got so much wire in me, they can't do an MRI anymore.
My wife goes with me EVERY Dr. appointment, and everyone loves her... so much, I think they forget I'm the patient & she's just tagging along to 'See what's gonna happen next, to me!'.

Told her, with that much Stainless & Titanium in me, just have me cremated & sell the metal to pay the funeral bill.

    4. You are constructing stories in your head. None of you have no idea how this guy lost his arm and leg. He may have lost them in combat, or he had an accident, was born that way or 100 different ways.

    5. No disrespect to the courageous soldier, but how exactly did he preserve or procure my freedom? Let me guess, if it wasn't for the, what's the phrase these days, "brave men and women" I'd be speaking Iraqi.
