  4. Jimmy Horton’s wreck at Talladega in 93. Hours after the race ended his car was still sitting just west of the south tunnel entrance to the infield when we left for home.

  5. I grew up in Springfield, Illinois, which has hosted dirt-track sprint car racing every year since at least the '20s. I remember getting out on the track after the 100-miler one summer - probably '61 or '62 - and realizing I was standing next to A.J. Foyt and A.C. Agajanian.

    That pic brings it back.

  6. Even in the slow rolling buses at Disneyland's Jungle Ride or the Jungle Cruise in Anaheim in 1960 I remember the drivers saying, "Keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times..."
