And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Jimmy Horton’s wreck at Talladega in 93. Hours after the race ended his car was still sitting just west of the south tunnel entrance to the infield when we left for home.
I grew up in Springfield, Illinois, which has hosted dirt-track sprint car racing every year since at least the '20s. I remember getting out on the track after the 100-miler one summer - probably '61 or '62 - and realizing I was standing next to A.J. Foyt and A.C. Agajanian.
Even in the slow rolling buses at Disneyland's Jungle Ride or the Jungle Cruise in Anaheim in 1960 I remember the drivers saying, "Keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times..."
i can't do a regular cartwheel much less one with a car attached to me.
