And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I’d dig a side of roasted or charred halved Brussels Sprouts, broccoli or asparagus. A little hollandaise on the asparagus would be nice. Don’t get me wrong, I could feast only on the meat but a little veg works too.
So where is the red wine? Chianti? Pinot Noir? Cabernet? A sip of the Beefeater with a drop of dry vermouth and a cocktail onion would be a decent aperitif, but for a spread like that, I would require a glass of good red wine.
There's enough there for me and maybe 2 others as long as the 2 others only eat bread.
ReplyDeleteno bread, roasted spudz
DeletePromo for the pan ad previous? ;)
ReplyDeleteTruth to tell, it did give me the idea. Cast iron is a 100 plus year investment.
DeleteNice but pour out the JD and get some Bourbon. Recomend Makers Mark.
ReplyDeleteMakers Mark would do, but, Evan Williams bottled in bond - oh yeah!
DeleteNo love for Woodford Reserve Double Oaked or Rabbit Hole Derringer?
DeletePotatoes look underdone, or not even cooked at all.
ReplyDeleteYou can have the (ugh!) shrimp and the booze.

ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Brisket (and we raise cows), but it's a cut that sells well... go figure.
ReplyDeleteNY Strip, or a trimmed Rib Eye, Prime Rib... I'm all in.
Is that Breakfast or Supper?

ReplyDeleteI believe you would change your mind were you to experience brisket from a top notch Texas Bar-B-Q.

Looks like someone went through half the bottles just to get the brisket done. Probably an all nighter there.

ReplyDeleteOr a decent stout.
DeleteI have two of the original square ones and one has a space for eggs and sausages-bacon.
