A great machine if you can keep it running

  1. It would be easier to keep running than any modern Jeep (or any other brand) with all the electronics and everything jammed together under the hood. When you have to drain the radiator to replace a bad alternator, or remove the entire front moulding to replace a headlight bulb you appreciate the KISS principle.

  2. As AL implied, at least you can TRY to keep it running.
A new ride has you at it's mercy.

    1. Keep it running? Comments suggest the real problem is getting it started.

  5. My mother (may she rest in peace) had a Jeep Wagoneer for many years.

  6. Any tight turn into a parking space was accompanied by the sounds of *clunk*clunk*clunk* from the rear differential. They had their issues. Rose colored glasses, and all that.

  7. I had an uncle that had one. He traded it for a 72 Suburban. He wanted AC and a V8 to pull his camper better. He had no problems driving off road in the Jeep. Not so much with the Suburban as it did not have locker axles.
