  2. Family had a Pacer, my Mom loved it. Short lady, no problems seeing out of the Pacer in any direction.

  4. I remember when the SouthWest flight attendants were stewardesses in hot pants! Most were also models and / or Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders!

  6. The AMC Pacer. A nightmare to work on as under the hood was an agglomeration of Plymouth, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and whoknowswherethefuckthiscamefrom parts.

  7. AMC Pacer, even uglier than a Pontiac Aztec.

  8. A friend in college had a Pacer. It actually had great room inside. The visibility was excellent, as others have noted. The use of other parts? GM steering gear and starters were pretty good components, as were Chrysler Torqueflite transmissions. AMC owned Jeep at this time, explaining shared parts there. As to the looks? A Lancia Stratos is gorgeous, but a right royal pain to enter/leave.

  9. these special AMC Pacers were used by Southwest sales staff to call on customers in the 1970s, they also had Gremlins. For two more press photos, one with both Pacers and Gremlins, https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2016/09/oh-good-heavens.html

  12. Notice the passenger side door is 3 inches longer than the driver side door? Allegedly it was to make backseat access slightly easier from the curb side.
