And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Took that photo just 2-3 years ago. My bride and I love walking around South of Broad Street. We bought a book there on our honeymoon in 1987 that has the history of each of about forty homes, and it’s fun to walk around and re read it each time. That and check the Zillow estimates🤣.
Lived in Charleston 55yrs, best thing I ever did was move.
