And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As I understand things, the Marine version of the F-35...the F-35B....has some downfalls. All that vertical takeoff and landing stuff has left the plane with less payload (weapons and fuel) than they otherwise might like. Also, I don't know how austere an airfield that the Marines are willing to operate from.
Stealth require lots of maintenance, so they’ll never operate from an austere field. But with the threat of cheap drone swarms, forward operating bases or airfields are likely a thing of the past in any event.

DeleteAgreed, but they do sorta’ turn an amphibious assault ship into a very capable light aircraft carrier.
