And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I heard there was a dusting of snow last night in the Bitterroot Valley south of Missoula
Looks like Hickory trees. Leaves started turning yellow here in the SC Lowcountry two weeks ago. Other then tall, thin maples (dark red), that's all the leaf colors we get here. Live & water oaks are geen year round, as are Palmettos, which are technically a shrub (grow from a seed bulb).
I live in Charleston Metro in the SC lowcountry. I do not like snow as I have been in it a few times in my life. I tried skiing once and was no good at it and was lucky I did not hurt myself. Presently it is freezing in Charleston in the morning as there is a cold spell but it will warm up.

ReplyDeleteI was under the impression that the Bitterroot was the "banana belt" of Montana and the snow was not a problem.
