  1. I'd just stare during the entire EVA. Didn't they use to allow some time for a guy on his first walk to just look? Do they still schedule for that?

  2. Why is the sunlight on the earth from the top left of the image, but the sunlight on the astronaut is from the bottom right.

    1. Sun light is coming from the right. The brightness along the curvature of the earth is the atmospheric limb. At that region we are looking at the atmosphere at a sharp angle, so from our perspective it is thicker. There are more atmospheric molecules reflecting light, which makes it a bright fuzzy arc. It’s visible in a lot of photos of Earth (and other planets).
