Actually not true. Killers of the Flower Moon deals with murders of the Osage tribe in the early '20s in Oklahoma. There is a book and movie called Comanche Moon by Larry McMurty though fiction. Early Gus and Capt. Call.
DeleteJust mentioned this book in the moon post. I'm working on my 2nd time thru this. Fascinating.
ReplyDeleteVery good read. Fort Parker is a re-built historical site, a State Park near Groesbeck, TX that was originally restored by the CCC in the 30s.
ReplyDeleteThe Comanches were the trailer trash of the Indian Nation, scorned by all, feared by many.
ReplyDeleteI just purchased this book in paperback. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteI have read a whole lotta books on a wide range of historical topics. This was absolutely one of the very best. I give it a 10 on a 10 scale.
ReplyDeleteRead this one ten or so years ago. My local library has a copy in the history reference section. Good read.
ReplyDeleteNemo
you won't look at the non-comanche Indians tribes the same after reading this.
