And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
How about the recent news that a Chinese day care sent workers out to purchase yellow house paint that had poisonous lead in it that they used to color baked food for the kids. Most of the kids either died or got incerdibly sick.
Me too. My parents rarely bought Hi-C or Hawaiian Punch or even packets of Kool Aide. It was all just sugar water and citric acid and chemicals. V8 we got, with that steel taste in the 42oz can.
An old good churchkey is a thing to keep. The new ones are made from Chinesium steel, un hardened, and weak.
Remember when motor oil came in cardboard cans that had metal ends on them? And they made big spouts that you'd stab into the top of them? If I remember right, a church key would work on them, too.
I liked the diet sparkling Hawaiian Punch in my bachelor days. Of course, I also liked iced tea in my Captain Crunch if milk was unavailable so obviously there is no accounting for taste.
Still have a church key and seldom use. Also I still have several P-38s from the C- rations we got in Vietnam and I still use it quite a bit. Most people have no idea what it is or how to use it. Guess they think it's a miracle. If they did happen to open something with it would a real miracle for sure!
Fruit Juicy ! How about......
ReplyDeleteOld is one thing ... but really old is a rusty steel can.
ReplyDeleteGrapefruit juice came in those too
ReplyDeleteI once chugged a can of that and almost blew my colon out................
ReplyDeleteStop it… that food coloring was perfectly safe…🫤

DeleteThe Church Key really dates you.
ReplyDeleteAnd when done, it went in the garbage. There were no recycle containers back then. That can is still on the planet somewhere, unfazed.
ReplyDeleteI have a church key in my drawer... you never know when you need to open a can of evaporated milk or Hawaiian Punch!
ReplyDeletefruit juice with the hint of metallic tin after taste.
ReplyDeleteNone of them had the plastic inner liner in those days. Nor did beer in the steel cans. I think that came along when the pull tab thing happened.
DeleteHow about a nice Hawaiian punch? POW!!!!!
DeleteYa' could of had a V-8. I opened more V-8 cans than Hawaiian punch.
