When I was a kid these things were huge. Every boy had a collection.

  1. I've got a "Custom Fleetside" on the sill of my porch windows. It was buried in dirt next to the house when I bought it.

  2. The bubble-top Silhouette was cool, but building a real-life Splittin' Image is still on my bucket list.

    3. They made a Silhouette. But none of those was a Splittin' Image.

  3. Bought a bunch "for my son" when he was little. He didn't care much about them but I've still got'em. Mostly other things much nicer and more accurate than Hot Wheels.

  4. I remember Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightning die cast vehicles. Still have some of those ''red line' side wall tires. Mom gave a lot of them away to my younger cousins, about six years behind us. Had the orange plastic race tracks with purple connectors. Man, that was back in very late 60''s - early 70's.

  5. Many look familiar. But rather than keeping them "mint in package," this silly kid had wonderful times playing with them.

  6. I still have my Custom Fleetside. There is a whole community of people that restore Hot Wheels cars on YouTube.
