    1. I am not so sure that the doggies had a belted blouse. That looks like a doggie patch on a Marine Alfa uniform.

      As an aside, Andrew Wyeth was a fantastic artist but maybe he had his head where the sun don't shine.

    2. Yes, I saw all that too. The patch doesn't resemble any Marine outfit I'm aware of. The bag doesn't resemble any article of issue I'm aware of, either. I think Wyeth just provided a reasonable proximity of something and was more worried about the emotions and sentiment than with historical accuracy.
