And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

My dad was an adding machine mechanic. Back in the late 40's, early 50's he would sometimes he would take me on calls. I'll bet he knew every place in Atlanta where he could get a cup of coffee. And they knew him, too. Cost a nickel.
That's a luncheon counter, Diners are stand alone, shiny aluminum greasy spoon type joints and I wish I had one nearby. 100X better than any fast food dumps.
They never get old.

ReplyDeleteWe had Sonny's in Blowing Rock, NC. Sadly, it became unprofitable after his death. Torn down, Six Pence restaurant was built there.
