    1. Yes, it is. Did you notice the traditional hickory handled 14-ounce hatchet is only two dollars cheaper?

    2. I did not see that. But 14 oz? My lightest general purpose hammer is more than that. Heck, I think my fine finish hammer is 14, or maybe 12.

      Instead of a lightweight hatchet, I reckon I'd use the regular size to baton.

  5. The closest thing you'll find to perfection of a tool.

    The only thing I'd do to it is gun blue most of the head and exposed handle other than the cutting edge.
