And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Based on what appear to be low hills in the distance, that was probably either the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, or Orange County, circa the 1930-40s, which were all rural then, and relatively close to Hollywood.
Which, as you know, is Ventura County. Lot of powerlines for that area back then though. Which is why I think SFV or OC are likelier, since closer to L.A. downtown.
That side view mirror looks like it would be mounted on a truck. One that often has a tow behind it, since the mirror is adjustable. I wonder how long the car following has been waiting for a opportunity to pass.
Smoke was comin' from out of the back When I started to gain on that Cadillac Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass Don't you know by then we'd be low on gas?
We had flames comin' from out of the side Feel the tension. Man! What a ride! I said, "Look out, boys, I've got a license to fly!" And that Caddy pulled over and let us by Now all of a sudden she started to knockin' And down in the dips she started to rockin' I looked in my mirror; a red light was blinkin' The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln!
Gotta keep an eye peeled for the dressed ovloV.
