Had three poodles and all lived fourteen years. All were brilliant, marvelous companions, and each a delectation. The smartest of the three forced my wife and I to SPELL out certain words and phrases so as not have the poodle go into a celebratory dance. Never, never say "go for a walk" or "car" unless one wanted to take the poodle along, and never rattle the car keys unless the reason involved the poodle as a passenger. Dan Kurt
