And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Keeping the ghouls at bay (back when cartoons were great)
Agreed. They had pretty much all the same elements. I remember the book where they were exploring an island "somewhere in the Pacific" and scared off the natives by spraying the jungle vegetation with a UV dye, then using a UV floodlight on them when they attacked. They all glowed because the dye rubbed off on them. Freaked them out, and they ran off.
Rick Brant was always so much more realistic than Tom Swift Jr. (which was complete fantasy).

ReplyDeleteYes I grew up with Jonny Quest! My favorites, Turo and the one eyed Electric monster! I still watch them with my grandsons on occasion
