And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Second-worst scare I ever got was some guy with a big-rig horn hooked up in his Buick. I was backing out of a parking space when I hear this 18-wheeler honking. I looked everywhere for this truck that was about to smash my car and me to smithereens. Then I saw this guy laughing his head off, and knew I'd just been had. I have to admit he got me good.
