And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The 9mm makes a great range gun. I have not shot .38 Super but 45ACP and 10mm can get quite expensive at the range, even if you reload.
I have the Colt Government model that comes with the competition barrel that has about 90k rounds through it. When I shoot the 10mm I am just as accurate but not quite so fast to get back on target. I do not have an ACP right now.
Colt calls that Royal Blue. Requires a very high polish before the special bluing process. Have used 1911s in .38 Super, .45acp, and 10mm. With age (going on 70) the 10mm is a tad too much but I routinely shoot and carry the other 2 rounds. Never felt under gunned with either.
Normally I carry/keep with me a 9mm or .38 spc. When I get that "bad" feeling, when I feel the adrenal levels going up, when I feel it's serious, it's a RIA 1911.
I'll be in my bunk.....
ReplyDeleteTHAT is beautiful. Colt Commander ?
ReplyDeleteShow up at the BBQ carrying that thing and you'll be respected forever.

"They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol."
