Griswold - The Best in Cast Iron

  1. Beyond a doubt. Have 2, and they can still be found. Half the weight of a modern cast iron skillet, smoother surface.

  2. Never heard of them. My family has bought Lodge going back many years.

  3. I have both Lodge and Griswold cast iron cookware. Lodge is good - after I smooth the surface with a stone (yes, tedious). Griswold is GREAT, as is. Lighter and smoother, as the first commenter noted.

  4. I have a chrome Griswold Dutch oven, which has made many pots of beans and chili. Wonderful old thing.

  6. Old Griswold #6 Dutch ovens as shown routinely sell online for $200-$300. Buy WagnerWare. Same old-time quality, around half the price.
