And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I like seeing a VW bus out and about! The divided lines in the middle of a road? Those suckers and long! I didn't notice until I was hitchhiking years ago and I had some time by the side of the road...
Great pics, CW! You make Fridays more fun. Sadly, the Hotel Gletscher-Restaurant Belvedere... at least according to Google... is permanently closed. It's in so many photos. Seems like an opportunity for some ambitious entrepreneur.
If you live in, or are driving through, an area with a lot of dirt or gravel roads. A friend and I had knobbies on '75 and '77 Gold Wings when we rode the Alcan and went to Prudhoe. Worked pretty well. (Gold Wings of that vintage were more street rods than tourers - no plastic.)

ReplyDeleteSomebody enlighten me. Picture #18, why in hell would you put knobbies on a couple of street bikes?
