  1. "Take Five" was my introduction to jazz. Absolute perfection indeed and a genuine classic.

    2. Born in Concord, CA, and grew up on a cattle ranch his dad had near Ione, Ca. Before moving up here, I lived just a hop skip and a jump from good old Ione. The grocery store there used to sell jalapeƱo pickled eggs that were superb.

  3. This beautiful recording was my first experience with agreeing with my father's choice of music.

  4. I have this on a gold XRCD. It’s my test disc for auditioning any high end stereo system . The original tapes contained much more detailed information than any reel to reel or vinyl system of the era, or any era right up to the late 1990s, could reproduce. But a first class modern digital system will sonically put you in the recording studio.

  6. Thanks for that. Brought back memories. Just sitting on the patio reading and listening and saw this.

Went and switched Amazon music to Dave Brubeck station

  7. Diversity! I prefer Benny Goodman's 1938 Carnegie Hall recording of Sing Sing Sing
