CZUB CZ-75 TS Czechmate 9mm. After the 1911, the CZ-75 is probably my favorite pistol.

  1. I've heard different stories about people carrying personal arms in the military but a late friend of mine who was a West Pointer and a retired Lt. Col. told me he carried a CZ 75 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

  2. A guy I know carried the CZ P-07 in both Iraq & Afghanistan and he says it never let him down.

  3. I have shot the CZ 75. It has a good feel to it.

My favorite pistol is a Colt 1911 Government in 9mm. I want to get an RMR cut on the slide to mount a red dot. It is a tie on the #2 pistol; A S&W 64-2 357mag with a Crimson Trace laser grip and a Glock 37 in 45GAP that has a Holosun red dot.

    1. Can a fella have too many favorites?
The Star BM is a near copy of the Commander; I should've bought several when they were cheap.

  4. D.O. folks at the CIA fell into "Old School" who had literally bet their lives on Browniing's & Saive's High Power and "the new guys" who (before The Wall fell) LOVE CZ-75s obtained via 3-World countries, and Italy (maybe Italian clones). One of the Old School guys told of how the HP save his life when a 1911 would have run dry. I bought an HP soon after. Then I met the CZ-75. Friend let me use it for a weekend. Went through 4 boxes of cartridges trying to figure out if I'd really miss my friend if I made off with the CZ.
Still carry a 1911 in either .45acp or .38 Super. Still lust for a CZ with single action and a straight trigger.

    1. Yes, a TZ-75 Italian clone was purchased and found to be my most accurate 9mm handgun. I installed fully adjustable Pachmayr rear sights for just that reason. This was prior to Iron Curtain being torn down and having actual CZ factory units available for sale. this pistol can be carried cocked and locked, just like a 1911. The grip of this and the Browning Hi-Power for me are extremely friendly to my hands.

  6. Col Jeff Cooper rated the CZ75 quite highly. He called it the best "crunchenticker" (Double Action/Single Action) self loader and recommended it if you had to carry hammer down with a round in the chamber. I ran about 15K rounds through my 9mm CZ85 without a malfunction.

    1. I met Jeff Cooper at a 'Shot Show' quite a long time ago. It was very early in the day, almost no one around, and he was gracious enough to give a me a run through of the Scout Rifle that was on display. It was pretty new at the time. He was no nonsense for sure. Steve_in_Ottawa

  7. I have one of these. It comes as a complete kit to shoot in Limited class as pictured here or to convert to a compensated Open class gun with a frame mounted C-more optic, which is how I use mine every weekend in local matches. It's my favorite gun ever.
