And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Finally a news story telling the truth of it all. Psychedelic compounds are feared for just this reason. Can't have everyone understanding the truth or abandoning the fear that governments and others use as motivation.
In my teens, I was on acid, and had a revelation about everything being connected to everything else. I grabbed a pen and a notebook, and started writing this thought down while it was clear in my mind. I wrote for hours, or so I thought.
The next morning when I looked at the notebook, I expected to see pages and pages of profound thoughts.
What I had actually written was the single phrase "The MONS theory of jagged space".
Funny AF when you hear Bill Hicks say this and you vibe with it cause it matches your own experience. Not so much when you've heard the joke a thousand times, and seen the moronic socio-political commentary that tells you someone didn't bring back wisdom from their trip but left that wise part of themselves back in that psychedelic otherworld..... Allegedly Robert MacNamara was sitting on the floor planning bombing sorites over China muttering "wow" repeatedly when he was on the stuff. ... Now there's DMT and dumb women on TikTok extolling its' virtues while recounting how it messed up their lives.
