And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Starting yesterday my brother is on the south fork. He planned for three weeks. Alone, enjoying the solitude. Big storm last night. Bigger storms to the north.
One of the most dangerous roads I know of is along the river above (it's Arrowrock) Dam. Used to run Fire/EMS up that way. Emergency up the lower end of the South Fork? SOL. Boat or helicopter rescue. If they know of it.

ReplyDeleteNot far from where I used to bow hunt for elk. Was awesome until it got overrun. You won't even find an open spot to camp anymore.
