And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Foxes Came To Woman's Door For Food - next they'll eat her cat
Good catches, looks like they been wild beggars for some time, there isn't anything much warier than a fox, smart critters, they have crazy fast reflexes, fast enough to pull a foot out of a leg trap before it grabs their foot, if they are watching in that direction. Once you have a dead trap you have to move it cause they never step in that spot again.
Noticed few days ago, wondering if its the same with these foxes, couple does where about 10 ft from our front door browsing thru the snow in a patch of extra green grass, they seemed not to see me standing there inside the all glass storm door, they notice something cause they looked up when I was moving, but not see me as a human shape, but when I opened the door of course they skedaddled right off. But long as my wife or I remain behind the glass they seem not concerned a bit only curious. Wondering do they lack the ability in their eyes to see certain wavelengths of light, so they are effectively blind to whats there? Like that first fox, he is very curious and calm, and like hey whats up, whats going on? But wary when the woman shows herself in the open door? Interesting.
I don't know about these fox, but around here they carry a stink like a skunk. Milder, but still bad. We had an infestation of fox a few years ago but the coyote population took care of that. Haven't seen, smelled or heard a fox in several years.
Got a pair of grays been living on our land for many years, after they showed up we had way fewer mouse problems in our home. Rather handsome compared to reds, they eat the fruit drops from our berries and fruit trees, they love the blueberries, next it seems the peaches, even seen them munching on chestnuts along side the deer. They seriously mow down on them. Lot of protein and fat in them for winter fat.
My next door neighbor had a fox family living under his deck one summer a few years ago. The kits are a continuous high energy show. We did not feed them.
I think the cat is much more sly than the fox. I think the fox would be the cats protege.
ReplyDeleteMust be Haitian foxes.
