  2. Labor is cheap in all those places. In the middle east, they have workers who's only duty is to roll spliff for the reed workers and rope makers. At Lake Titicaca they have families who's job is to provide coca leaf to the reed workers and rope makers.

  4. It wasn’t too long ago that they used bamboo scaffolding in China. The labor to tie the bamboo was cheaper than the cost of steel.
