The Orpheus mosaic in Woodchester, Britain. It was created ca. 325 AD and is the second largest Roman mosaic in the world. It depicts the Greek myth of Orpheus attracting wild animals with his lyre.

  1. Well, well, Tigers and a lion at 6 O'clock, and a bear at 2:00!

  2. The photo is the contemporary replica of the original, which is covered up (last opened fifty years ago, and is incomplete).

You can read about the replica at https://www.bbc.com/news/10402944

If you travel to this part of England, it is possible to find something Roman-Era that you can touch (or at lest view) daily.

  3. Lions and Tigers, oh my

    Bear Claw

  4. This is beautiful. Thanks for posting
