  1. Rode the Zephyr from IL to CA last summer, a unique way to see our great American landscape… Never do it again (Amtrak is a disaster) but glad I did it.

  2. I think of things like this when they say the WEF wants us all living in high rises in a few years. US is really big and there are a lot of independent minding folks living there.

    1. Met a Danish woman while working in Copenhagen who asked me what the weather was like in America. Met a woman from Malta while working in Dublin who marveled at how big Ireland is. Said she really wanted to go to America. I told her she'd love traveling around the country.

  6. Took Amtrak all over the USA. If you have all the time in the world, take the train. A roomette is the only way to go.

  8. BNSF. Where I am at right now there is about 1 per hour each direction, yes even at night. Truly amazing when you think about how much freight and returning empties are moving across this line and it's just one like the above.
