And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Quite the Dudette. I see the barrels is the distance and that cross-draw rig and I wonder if there's another next to it. Maybe she's geared up for a Cowboy Mounted Shooter ride.
Just my opinion, but I don't see the attraction, especially with all of the western gear that she's weighing herself down with. I spent some time out west, and I saw very few people dressed in this manner, even when I visited some of the NM and TX ghost towns. I spent time in Dodge City for a class on cooling systems for small satellite launchers, and it appeared that the only people wearing that stuff were tourists. Oh well, to each their own.
You were in the wrong place. Nobody wears their shooting / rodeo gear walking down the street. I can assure you that everybody dresses this way in shooting competitions and rodeo. This lady appears to be participating in some type of moving shooting competition / demonstration. As well as being useful, the clothing is part of the fun. Of course, working cowboys dress this way for work just not nearly as flashy.
My wife saw this comment, and noted that I've never attended a rodeo, whereas she has. She has a point; she's a lot more willing to try different things, where I'm pretty conservative in most ways; even reactionary. I'm reminded of the quote "Think of me as a 5th century AD liberal."
Most folks would be shocked at the workmanship and subsequent cost of her leather. That stuff is absolutely heirloom material. Her granddaughter will have it broken in nicely by the time she passes it down.
