  3. Turns out, author Nevil Shute, author of On the Beach, was the chief engineer for this aircraft.

    1. Wrote a book about it "slide Rule:Autobiography of an Engineer" along with 24 novels, all really good.

      Blackwood magazine published a long excerpt from Slide Rule about the r10 trip to Canada and back

    2. I also recommend "Slide Rule" as well as his novels. "No Highway" and "Trustee from the Toolroom" are two of my favorites.

      He also worked on secret weapons for the Brits during WWII.
