Washington State Gas Stations Run Out of Gas, Add a Digit to Charge $10 Per Gallon

Vote for the wrong people, and you get scarcity - by design.

Local Washingtonians in the tri-city region of Pasco, Kennewick, and West Richland, where some of the pumps are dry, have taken to Facebook to tell their neighbors where to find some “go juice.”

Lovely.

  1. (Old Tech) To the people of Washington State: YOU voted for this. Stay home and don't move away from your community. Time to wallow in your own feces.

    1. Nah, it was the west side voted for this. They outnumber us 6.4 mil to 1.7 mil. Take a look at an election result map by county and you'll see what I mean.

  2. I read a post by someone traveling the PA turnpike. They had stopped at one of the service plazas to gas up, but it had no gas. Travel may get rather haphazard. Gas here in Michigan, at least in the Grand Rapids metro area, is currently running about $4.35 a gallon for regular unleaded. Premium runs about a buck more a gallon.

    1. $6.59 in Crescent City, CA. Largely thanks to Gruesome Newsome. Nearby Oregon and Indian gas a lot less.

  3. If you had an EV you wouldn't be concerned with the price of gas.

    1. Is your comment supposed to be enlightening, Anonymous, or merely words with no actual insight? I lean to the latter.

    2. No, you wouldn't be worried about the price of gas. You'd be waiting in line for a charging station to open up, and worrying about the blackout coming to a grid in your neighborhood.

Here's a preview for you. Remember, always keep a supply of snacks and water in your car, along with a jug of electrons.

    3. Try as I might, I still haven't cornered any EV drivers locally to find out how and what they pay for electrons. Local Walmart plaza(!) put in a dozen Tesla cahrgers, and I thinkI saw half of them in use on a long weekend. Other chargers (Flo? Nissan?), and some that are even more obscure around.

2 of my bosses have put deposit on electric Rav4's, with an imputed delivery as much as 2 years out.

    4. How well do the chargers work in a blackout? That's what the story was about, a regional, storm-driven outage. Regardless of how much they pay for electrons, how well do they transport for charging?

    5. I borrowed my fathers tesla to pick up my sister at colorado springs airport. Wanted to charge up because we were way to early. There are no charge stations at the airport. None on the east side of springs. Only around I25. One tesla super charger there, with 8 hook ups. Keep in mind springs is half million population. If you're going to go anywhere other than major routes, you better seriously plan out where you going to get energy.

    6. The reason most EV drivers are running around looking for a charging station is it is VERY expensive to get the average home wired for it. The house has to have it's current rating raised, usually to a 300A system. And then wired for the charger. I've heard $8k quoted for this by PG&E. On top of which they double the cost of electricity during the daytime. Old houses are generally 100A. Less than 20 years old tend to only be 200A. Has to be fairly new to already have a 300A system. I suspect it may raise your insurance premiums to wire the house for an EV, due to fire concerns.

    7. The tone deafness and entitlement mentality of EV drivers (most, not all) is incredible. Their cluelessness where electricity comes from proves public education is creating non-thinking drones. Power is not free, ever...even with so-called "renewables" (not even close). The mental disconnect these people use to feel good about their subsidized 200-300 mile capability vehicle purchase when plugging into "free" power at some store or hotel, approaches moronic. Like they have a right to it on some else's nickel.

We're rural, new "weekend" neighbors were excited they could make the round-trip on ONE charge (Oh goody - geez). Then we get the question, "Is there a charging station in town?". How the heck would I know, I drive a diesel pickup - which is intentionally taking it in the shorts at the pump by Brandon's handlers to force more EV crap onto the rest of our pocketbooks.

If it works, the Left will screw it up, every time.

  4. A great example of Emotional Reacting vs. Critical Thinking. Too bad 98% of the Human population is motivated by the former.

  6. Not all people in Washington state voted for this. It is mainly the voters on the west side that carry the vote in this state. The greatest majority of people on the east side (of the Cascade range) are very conservative and voted against all the idiots that prefer the "progressive" mind set! Don't lump us all in one boat!

Currently still in Seattle, a place so blue that I am surprised they allow right turn on red... But moving to the eastern side in a month or so. Sadly Anony is very much correct, the wet side of the state wags the dog and we conservative types just have to do the best we can. And I wonder if somehow the distribution system is purposefully pinching the gas supply to the east side?

  9. I work construction and very often at office complexes of many spaces, seem many have what sure looks are a couple free electric hookups for ECars. Seen employees show up way before their normal start times to plug in.

    1. ISTR that some cities require businesses above a certain size to provide charging stations for a certain amount of their employees. Got to push that green agenda!

  10. And there is NO legitimate reason for the price. We have more oil than any other country. but our corrupt, communist bastard government won't let us extract it or use it. This is deliberate and vindictive, there are no shortages in this country. Only the ones created by Biden and the psycho boot lickers who pull the strings attached by Soros.
