And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Mountain Lion Attack Stopped By Young Female Hunter -- she seems like she had it all together, and speaks very well indeed.
Beautiful lady, and yes, very well spoken. Dad should be proud of her. Only thought about the shooting is, if she had a scope on the weapon, as she describes, it would have been quite easy to out a round next to the cat instead of hitting it with the first round. The loud bang of the weapon would probably have been enough to scare it away. Just a thought...
She absolutely did the right thing, I think. The cat had made a show of going off, only to immediately circle back, clandestinely. These are ambush predators, and the cat had no fear of humans. She still had to make it out of the woods.
Since the government has banned the use of dogs in mountain lion hunting, they have lost all fear of man in two generations. One walked across the driveway the other day 20 feet from me.
