  1. It's a long way without that short cut.

  2. Try the Cuyahoga... There's a reason we've got Collision Benend. We've done 630' freighters.https://www.reddit.com/r/Cleveland/comments/ofoq7z/caught_this_freighter_navigating_the_twists_and/

And yes, ghostsniper. They have 'bow thrusters'.

I love when Americans do the things it takes to make America work.

  4. Looks like an uncompleted ship? No superstructure or hatch covers, so....was it already commissioned?

  5. Being converted to self unloader. That would involve removing the superstructure, and rebuilding the center section, to install the self unloading conveyers, lift, and discharge boom. By doing that, instead of being stuck under a unloading machine for two days, you can dock, unload, and be on your way back to Duluth, in eight hours.

  6. Same thing a few other Lakes ports. Laker Skippers and Wheelsmen, some of the best mariners in the world.

  7. "Transited" being a relative word for a ship they had to slather with vaseline just to get around the corners.

  8. More. Seven inches of clearance at one point. Interesting how they got the ship thru a lock that was shorter than she was long.
