  1. It would work just fine, provided you use a 5.0 Ah battery or larger. Tools like this really suffer when using lower capacity batteries.

  3. Been thinking about getting a hand planer for some time now and it will be a corded version because of what you say. Also, I just don't see the benefit in having one that is battery powered. I'll prolly never need to use it where there is not electricity available. It's sort of a specialized tool.

  5. Some tools just need a cord to get the power required. Definitely a planer. Also a hammer drill. They just work so much better.
