That Wet Bike Smell

  1. I don't care for the wet bike smell. About 5 years ago I was headed to Biketoberfest in Daytona. There was misting rain to light rain and I was on back roads headed south through GA. The speed limit was 65 but I was running about 53 as that speed created the correct air bubble behind the fairing to keep me somewhat dry. I was wearing my Frog Tog water resistant suit. A county sheriff pulled me over to see if I was all right. I told him I was fine until I had to slow down and stop as I was now coated with water in 50 degree weather. Thirty minutes later I hit clean air that dried me off and I lost the chill that the moisture had induced.

Up until my early 50's I would ride in rain and snow with little regard to the weather. I am a fair weather rider now at 60 years old. The ElectraGlide is overdue for it's winter service job, maybe next week end. It has been on the trickle charger since it was last ridden in December.
