  1. everybody who bought one to use as a chicken coop removed and threw away the glass bubbles on the side. now they probably cost what e rebuilt engine costs.

  4. Canadian -built "Canso". Can be seen at Natl Museum of WWII Aviation at Colorado Springs. Still flyable. Saw it fly last summer.

  5. The post war civilian conversions that turned them into flying RV's would be neat to own.

As a kid in Sault Ste Marie MI (73 now) living a mile or so from our city airport there was a privately owned PBY that landed there for quite a few summers on its way to somewhere (likely Canada lakes as we are on the northernmost Ontario land border in MI). I recall building a plastic model as a kid and thought them so cool.

  6. airfoil shaped fuel tank. there was a modification done some years ago on another canso to install a pair of IO-720 engines and three blade props out in front of the ailerons on the wings. they were useful on takeoff and aided in roll control. I only knew of the one aircraft so modified, saw it in the Med.
