  2. Ah the good old days when the American Navy plied the briny and when midshipmen were, "gender-referencing", actually men.

  3. Midshipmen, huh? That would mean Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay And given that, wonder if this picture is frm the time the Missouri ran aground in the Chesapeake Bay?

  4. Back when Reagan recommissioned the Battleships The Iowa was Stationed at Hampton Roads Virginia. I was stationed in Little Creek Amphib Base near the Mouth of Chesapeake Bay. When her turret exploded she came in Hampton Roads, Still impressive with her number turret still turned to port, if I remember right.
Anytime I heard of a Battle ship underway If I could I was underway. Aircraft carriers are impressive but a Battleship exudes POWER in so many ways! Sleek lines on the beam but Bow on they are wide and huge! Now they are museums! I was glad to see them underway and operating. You will never see their like at sea again unfortunately.

  5. No one has yet to mention how nice the motor launch would be in a "barn find".

  6. The correct term for that lot is "supercargo".
