A friend told me of the highrise they were building. The architect was adament the mirrors in the restrooms would be single panel floor to ceiling 24 feet long. Of course thw freight elevator wasn't large enough. The mirrors were too large for any window openings. Even if they could lift them in the stairwell, they couldn't get the mirrors into the bathrooms. After several weeks the arch finally allowed the mirrors be cut into muliple panels.
I've had my own WTF moments caused by architects and structural engineers. I've never heard of the subsequent delays coming out of their pockets.
