That surprising tongue

Rare sighting of the Australian Numbat. There are only less than 1500 of them left in the wild from r/interestingasfuck

  1. Excellent example of parallel evolution. Australia has this, Central and South America have anteaters, Africa has aardvark.

All have long, narrow tongues for eating ants and termites.

  2. Evolution at its best in Australia where the Numbat jumped species and mated with the Dingo to produce....wait for it..drum-roll....The Dingbat!
