And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Been there, did that from the top of Washington to the bottom of Oregon, back when it was known as the Cascade Crest trail (in the '60's...). Ah, youth! I'd love to do the Appalachian Trail now, but am too darn old and the knees won't let me. Arrrgh, old age!
I did part of that in Washington when I was a Boy Scout. The Scouts had a "Pacific Crest Trail" patch we qualified for (Got our "50-Mile" patches, too).
I recognized just two bits in the video: Bridge of the Gods (easy) and what had to be Snowgrass Flats in the Goat Rocks.
I'd like to do some of it again, but, like Igor, my knees forbid it. I do my walking now on a golf course.
It was my extreme enjoyment to construct an access trail to the pct while part of the Mt. San Jacinto, CA Conservation Corps in 1982. Great memories...I wish I could remember all involved.,,thanks.
Gorgeous scenery, thanks for the virtual trip
