Spooling up, or down?

  1. Spooling down, the guy is waiting for them to stop (WAG). Do those come with a rotor brake?

  2. Most likely winding down, the guy standing nearby has no ear protection. Usually rotor brakes are only installed for shipboard use.

  5. probably a cross wind against the tail rotor. it's why the main rotor blades are tied down during post flight inspections. windmilling on the ground puts unnecessary wear on the gearbox and presents a safety issue to equipment and personel if allowed to move in the wind.
but, yeah, feeding time is well past....

r brake but was never used and even locked out from use. the longbow and now guardian model's both have and use rotor brakes.
