And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I'm still amazed this happened. It's been a long, long time since there was some good news here.
Unfortunately, it was reinstated one week later by the same judge while the state appeals the decision. But, manufacturers flooded the state with new mags for one week. And any mags ordered that would not be delivered before the ban went back into effect (5:00 pm last Friday) they were still considered to have been purchased during the ban free period and you are OK.
Since magazines aren't marked with serial numbers or dates, ANY normal capacity magazines are now legal. If anyone asks, they were purchased during the time that the unConstitutional ban was lifted. I tried to find out how many normal or high-cap mags were sold in that time, but it's in the millions and nobody knows for sure. Good news for CA, anyway!
I'd still be leery of using any of them in public; some CA police are known to confiscate first & let the courts sort out what's legal, and I don't want them exercising their creativity on me. For that matter, the courts are also well-known for inventing law to suit their own purposes!
