Mrs. CW got a line on some pork and bacon. Someone we know from church was slaughtering a pig, and didn't want all the meat, so we bought some.
Bacon is on the menu now.
The pig's name was Louie. I guess the lady's granddaughter raised Louie from a piglet, and was not happy about her friend's sad fate. Pigs are smart and affectionate, and it's therefore a mistake to name them and become friends.
Should have called him "Organism 46B" instead.
In any case, the two of us will now begin the work of eating Louie. It should be grand (burp!).
Sorry, but it's a softball over the plate---

Brings to mind the old joke about the pig with a wooden leg...
ReplyDeleteAnd the one "the chicken is involved, but the pig is committed".
DeleteLike my friend, named the rabbits - "Dinner", "Lunch", and Stu.
ReplyDeleteI name all my chickens ;coco; as in Coq au vin.
