So last night, we got about half the Xmas tree to burn, and we proved the concept of the bottle rocket burn off. The other half goes up in flames tonight.
The cobs got broken in down at the mancave while we watched LOTR, first extended disc. It's amazing how much pipe smoking everyone does in that movie, once you come to notice it.
The moon was just too bright to pull off an attempt at a comet Lovejoy photo. I got up at 4am just to make sure conditions hadn't improved. Unfortunately, it's waxing, so I dunno if we will get a reasonable chance. I see many late night trips outside to see how things are in the night sky, but once you get past getting up, it's actually a sublime time to be outside. Super quiet and still, and at this time of year, chilly. It was supposed to be in the high twenties last night here, and it felt like it.
What's not to love about a cafe bike, shotgun, Mini-14 and a couple cans of beer?
ReplyDeleteThat is a mini 14, isn't it? A gift to all guys, from Bill Ruger. Thanks, Bill!
DeleteI'm lovin' the R series IH but two cans of Rainier? Whoa, there's some memories.
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer Modelo.
DeleteAll good, but the race between the 'iron horse' and the real one is the winner!
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd like that one.
DeleteThat was my favorite too. Gotta love a good horse race...
DeleteI'm going for the Mountain Path this time, although the blue hues in the Bridge pic caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteThat mountain path looks very much like Yosemite. Makes me want to hit the trail.
Delete27 here this morning at Oh 4 dark thirty... even the scrub jays were too cold to squabble...
ReplyDeleteThe high twenties is a very comfortable temperature - if you are wearing a decent sweater and some socks. Keeps everyone else inside too, leaving the outdoors to me and the dog.
DeleteGetting snow stormed here. The pictures are a nice distraction.
